  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Secretary of Barbecue;

  3         creating the position of Secretary of Barbecue

  4         within the Executive Office of the Governor;

  5         providing duties of the position; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10         Section 1.  SECRETARY OF BARBECUE.--

11         (1)  The position of Secretary of Barbecue is created

12  within the Executive Office of the Governor.  The Secretary of

13  Barbecue shall be appointed by the Governor for a 1-year term.

14  The Secretary of Barbecue shall be a ceremonial position.  The

15  secretary shall serve without compensation.

16         (2)  The Secretary of Barbecue, or the secretary's

17  designee, shall represent the Governor in functions promoting

18  the enjoyment of barbecue and shall promote the diversity of

19  barbecue created by the many cultures represented in the

20  state's diverse citizenry. No state funds shall be used for

21  the support of this position.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

23  law.
