  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to health maintenance

  3         contracts; amending s. 641.31, F.S.; providing

  4         that such contracts must give subscribers and

  5         their physicians the right to make final

  6         decisions regarding the subscribers' treatment;

  7         providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Subsection (39) is added to section 641.31,

12  Florida Statutes, to read:

13         641.31  Health maintenance contracts.--

14         (39)  A health maintenance contract must provide that a

15  subscriber and the subscriber's physician have the right to

16  make the final decision regarding the subscriber's treatment.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.

21    Provides that health maintenance contracts must provide
      that a subscriber and the subscriber's physician have the
