17 Section 33. Section 471.025, Florida Statutes, is
18 amended to read:
19 471.025 Seals.--
20 (1) The board shall prescribe, by rule, a form of seal
21 to be used by registrants holding valid certificates of
22 registration. Each registrant shall obtain an impression-type
23 metal seal in the form aforesaid and may, in addition,
24 register his or her seal electronically in accordance with ss.
25 282.70-282.75. All final drawings, specifications, plans,
26 reports, or documents prepared or issued by the registrant and
27 being filed for public record and final bid documents provided
28 to the owner or the owner's representative shall be signed by
29 the registrant, dated, and stamped with said seal. Such
30 signature, date, and seal shall be evidence of the
31 authenticity of that to which they are affixed. Drawings,

1 specifications, plans, reports, final bid documents, or
2 documents prepared or issued by a registrant may be
3 transmitted electronically and may be signed by the
4 registrant, dated, and stamped electronically with said seal
5 in accordance with ss. 282.70-282.75.
6 (2) It is unlawful for any person to stamp, seal, or
7 digitally sign any document with a seal or digital signature
8 after his or her certificate of registration has expired or
9 been revoked or suspended, unless such certificate of
10 registration has been reinstated or reissued. When the
11 certificate of registration of a registrant has been revoked
12 or suspended by the board, it shall be mandatory that the
13 registrant, within a period of 30 days after the revocation or
14 suspension has become effective, surrender his or her seal to
15 the secretary of the board and confirm to the secretary the
16 cancellation of the registrant's digital signature in
17 accordance with ss. 282.70-282.75. In the event the
18 registrant's certificate has been suspended for a period of
19 time, his or her seal shall be returned to him or her upon
20 expiration of the suspension period.
21 (3) No registrant shall affix or permit to be affixed
22 his or her seal, name, or digital signature to any plan,
23 specification, drawing, final bid document, or other document
24 that which depicts work which he or she is not licensed to
25 perform or which is beyond his or her profession or specialty
26 therein.
27 Section 34. Present subsections (13) through (26) of
28 section 633.021, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as
29 subsections (14) through (27), respectively, and a new
30 subsection (13) is added to that section to read:

1 (13) "Layout" as used in this chapter means the layout
2 of risers, cross mains, branch lines, sprinkler heads, sizing
3 of pipe, hanger locations, and hydraulic calculations in
4 accordance with the design concepts established through the
5 provisions of s. 553.79(6)(c).
