  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Florida Right to Farm

  3         Act; amending s. 823.14, F.S.; prohibiting

  4         local governments from imposing certain

  5         restrictions on the use of land for

  6         agricultural purposes; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Subsection (6) is added to section 823.14,

12  Florida Statutes, to read:

13         823.14  Florida Right to Farm Act.--

14         (6)  LIMITATION ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS.--A

15  local government may not prohibit, restrict, regulate, or

16  otherwise limit the continuing use of any land for the purpose

17  of growing or harvesting plants, crops, trees, or other

18  agricultural or forestry products, raising livestock, or any

19  other agricultural purposes.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.
