11  Senator Bronson moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 2, line 22, after the period,

15

16  insert:  However, this exemption shall not be allowed unless

17  the purchaser, renter, or lessee signs a certificate stating

18  that the farm equipment is to be used exclusively on a farm or

19  in a forest for agricultural production or for fire prevention

20  and suppression, as required by this subsection. Possession by

21  a seller, lessor, or other dealer of a written certification

22  by the purchaser, renter, or lessee certifying the

23  purchaser's, renter's, or lessee's entitlement to an exemption

24  permitted by this subsection relieves the seller from the

25  responsibility of collecting the tax on the nontaxable

26  amounts, and the department shall look solely to the purchaser

27  for recovery of such tax if it determines that the purchaser

28  was not entitled to the exemption.
