14         On page 1, line 10 of the bill

16  insert:

17         Section 1.  Paragraph (a) of subsection (4) of section

18  240.513, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

19         240.513  University of Florida; J. Hillis Miller Health

20  Center.--

21         (4)(a)  The State Board of Education shall lease the

22  hospital facilities of the health center, known as the Shands

23  Teaching Hospital and Clinics, and consisting of Building 446

24  and parts of Buildings 204 and 205 on the campus of the

25  University of Florida and all furnishings, equipment, and

26  other chattels or choses in action used in the operation of

27  the hospital, to a private nonprofit corporation organized

28  solely for the purpose of operating the hospital and ancillary

29  health care facilities of the health center and other health

30  care facilities and programs determined to be necessary by the

31  board of the nonprofit corporation.  The rental for the

 1  hospital facilities shall be an amount equal to the debt

 2  service on bonds or revenue certificates issued solely for

 3  capital improvements to the hospital facilities or as

 4  otherwise provided by law.  The board shall request

 5  recommendations from the Board of Regents of the State

 6  University System as to the terms of the lease not otherwise

 7  provided for in this act.

13  remove from the title of the bill:  all of said lines

15  and insert in lieu thereof:

16                      A bill to be entitled

17         An act relating to university health care;

18         amending s. 240.513, F.S.; revising language

19         with respect to the J. Hillis Miller Health

20         Center; authorizing the nonprofit corporation

21         leasing the facility to operate certain other

22         facilities and programs;
