  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to health maintenance

  3         contracts; amending s. 641.31, F.S.; requiring

  4         such contracts to allow subscribers to choose

  5         their physicians; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (39) is added to section 641.31,

10  Florida Statutes, to read:

11         641.31  Health maintenance contracts.--

12         (39)  A health maintenance contract must give a

13  subscriber the right to select a physician of the subscriber's

14  choice.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.
