  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to solid waste disposal;

  3         amending s. 403.706, F.S.; providing for a

  4         local-government fee waiver for specified

  5         nonprofit charitable organizations; providing

  6         an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (17)

11  of section 403.706, Florida Statutes, to read:

12         403.706  Local government solid waste

13  responsibilities.--

14         (17)  To effect the purposes of this part, counties and

15  municipalities are authorized, in addition to other powers

16  granted pursuant to this part:

17         (d)  To grant a solid waste fee waiver to nonprofit

18  organizations that are engaged in the collection of donated

19  goods for charitable purposes and that have a recycling or

20  reuse rate of 50 percent or better.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.
