18  and insert in lieu thereof:  (7)  Prior to an interfacility

19  trauma transfer, the emergency medical services provider's

20  medical director or his or her designee must agree, pursuant

21  to protocols and procedures in the emergency medical services

22  provider's trauma transport protocol, that the staff of the

23  transport vehicle has the medical skills, equipment, and

24  resources to provide anticipated patient care as proposed by

25  the transferring physician. The emergency medical services

26  provider's medical director or his or her designee may require

27  appropriate staffing, equipment, and resources to ensure

28  proper patient care and safety during transfer.
