14 Remove from the bill: Everything after the enacting clause

16 and insert in lieu thereof:
17 Section 1. Subsection (5) of section 316.1935, Florida
18 Statutes, is amended to read:
19 316.1935 Fleeing or attempting to elude a law
20 enforcement officer; aggravated fleeing and eluding.--
21 (5)(a) The court may revoke, for a period not to exceed
22 1 year, the driver's license of any operator of a motor
23 vehicle convicted of a violation of subsection (1).
24 (b) The court shall revoke, for a period of not less
25 than 1 year and not more than 5 years, the driver's license of
26 any operator of a motor vehicle convicted of a violation of
27 subsection (2) or subsection (3).
28 (c) The court shall revoke, for a period of not less
29 than 5 years and not more than 25 years, the driver's license
30 of any operator of a motor vehicle convicted of a violation of
31 subsection (4). The period of revocation shall begin upon

1 release from imprisonment.
2 The court may revoke, for a period not to exceed 1 year, the
3 driver's license of any operator of a motor vehicle convicted
4 of a violation of subsection (1), subsection (2), subsection
5 (3), or subsection (4).
6 (6) A person whose driving privilege has been revoked
7 under this section may petition the department for
8 reinstatement of his or her driving privilege on a restricted
9 basis solely for business or employment purposes as provided
10 in s. 322.271(1)(b).
11 Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2000.

27 petition for a restricted license for business
28 or employment purposes; providing an effective
29 date.
