14 On page 29, between lines 3 and 4,

16 insert:
17 Section 8. (1) The State Board of Education shall
18 adopt by rule uniform policies and procedures to be
19 implemented if a student athlete is arrested for a crime. The
20 uniform procedures shall apply to each institution in the
21 State University System, each state community college, and any
22 other institution of higher education that receives state
23 funds. The uniform policies and procedures must be included in
24 the institution's handbook, manual, or other similar document
25 regularly provided to faculty and students.
26 (2) As used in this section, the term "student
27 athlete" means a student who participates in intercollegiate
28 athletics or who has informed the institution, in writing, of
29 the student's intent to participate in intercollegiate
30 athletics.
