11  Senator Latvala moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 4, between lines 24 and 25,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 3.  Subsection (5) of section 373.323, Florida

18  Statutes, is amended, and subsection (10) is added to said

19  section, to read:

20         373.323  Licensure of water well contractors;

21  application, qualifications, and examinations; equipment

22  identification.--

23         (5)  The water management district shall issue a water

24  well contracting license to any applicant who receives a

25  passing grade on the examination, has paid the initial

26  application fee, takes and completes to the satisfaction of

27  the department a minimum of 12 hours of approved course work,

28  and has complied with the requirements of this section.  A

29  passing grade on the examination shall be as established by

30  the department by rule.  A license issued by any water

31  management district shall be valid in every water management

 1  district in the state.

 2         (10)  Effective July 1, 2001, water well contractors

 3  licensed under the provisions of this section shall be able to

 4  install, repair, and modify pumps and tanks in accordance with

 5  the Florida Building Code, Chapter 29, section 612--Well Pumps

 6  and Tanks Used for Potable Water Systems.

 7         Section 4.  Subsection (2) of section 373.324, Florida

 8  Statutes, is amended, subsections (3), (4), and (5) are

 9  renumbered as subsections (4), (5), and (6), respectively, and

10  a new subsection (3) is added to said section, to read:

11         373.324  License renewal.--

12         (2)  The water management district shall renew a

13  license upon receipt of the renewal application, proof of

14  completion of 12 classroom hours of continuing education

15  annually, and renewal fee.

16         (3)  The department shall prescribe by rule the method

17  for renewal of licenses, which shall include continuing

18  education requirements of not less than 12 classroom hours

19  annually.
