14 On page 7, between lines 29 and 30,

16 insert:
17 Section 6.
18 (1) A health insurance company that offers only dental
19 insurance shall at all times maintain a surplus as to
20 policyholders in the amount required by s. 624.408, Florida
21 Statutes, except that the following amounts shall be
22 substituted for the amount set forth in s. 624.408(1)(a)1.,
23 Florida Statutes:
24 (a) For calendar years 2000 and 2001, $500,000.
25 (b) For calendar year 2002, $1 million.
26 (c) For calendar year 2003, $1.5 million.
27 (2) The provisions of this section apply only to a
28 company that has held a certificate of authority under chapter
29 636, Florida Statutes, for 4 years prior to the effective date
30 of this act and which applies for a certificate of authority
31 pursuant to chapter 624, Florida Statutes, prior to December
