15 On page 12, between lines 24 and 25 of the bill

17 insert:
18 Section 9. Contingent upon specific appropriation, the
19 statewide child care resource and referral network, pursuant
20 to section 402.27, Florida Statutes, shall convene a workgroup
21 for the purpose of developing recommendations for improving
22 the health and safety qualities of summer camp programs
23 without over-regulation. One component of the workgroup's
24 deliberation shall include examining the feasibility of
25 requiring summer camp programs to register with the Department
26 of Children and Family Services, to provide annual program
27 information to the statewide child care resource and referral
28 networks, or to publish their health and safety plans. The
29 workgroup shall include representatives from summer camp
30 program related associations, the Department of Children and
31 Family Services, parents, and any other interested individuals

1 or organizations identified by the statewide child care
2 resource and referral network. All participants in this
3 process shall attend the meetings at their own expense. A
4 report of the recommendations shall be submitted to the
5 Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the
6 House of Representatives by January 1, 2001.
