15 On page 2, between lines 20 and 21 of the bill

17 insert:
18 Section 1. A new subsection (9) is added, section
19 402.27, Florida Statutes, and current subsection (9) is
20 renumbered as subsection (10), to read:
21 402.27 Child care and early childhood resource and
22 referral.--The Department of Children and Family Services
23 shall establish a statewide child care resource and referral
24 network. Preference shall be given to using the already
25 established central agencies for subsidized child care as the
26 child care resource and referral agency. If the agency cannot
27 comply with the requirements to offer the resource information
28 component or does not want to offer that service, the
29 Department of Children and Family Services shall select the
30 resource information agency based upon a request for proposal.
31 At least one child care resource and referral agency must be

1 established in each district of the department, but no more
2 than one may be established in any county. Child care
3 resource and referral agencies shall provide the following
4 services:
5 (9) Assistance to families in identifying summer
6 recreation camp and summer day camp programs and in evaluating
7 the health and safety qualities of summer recreation camp and
8 summer day camp programs and in evaluating the health and
9 safety qualities of summer camp programs. Contingent upon
10 specific appropriation, a checklist of important health and
11 safety qualities that parents can use to choose their summer
12 camp programs will be developed and distributed in a manner
13 that will reach parents interested in such programs for their
14 children.
15 (10)(9) A child care facility licensed under s.
16 402.305 and licensed and registered family day care homes must
17 provide the statewide child care and resource and referral
18 agencies with the following information annually:
19 (a) Type of program.
20 (b) Hours of service.
21 (c) Ages of children served.
22 (d) Fees and eligibility for services.
