18 subsection (9) is added to said section, to read:
19 553.71 Definitions.--As used in this part, the term:
20 (7) "Threshold building" means any building which is
21 greater than three stories or 50 feet in height, or which has
22 an assembly occupancy classification as defined in the State
23 Minimum Building Codes which that exceeds 5,000 square feet in
24 area and an occupant content of greater than 500 persons.
25 (9) "Special inspector" means a licensed architect or
26 registered engineer who is certified under chapter 471 or
27 chapter 481 to conduct inspections of threshold buildings.
28 Section 1. Effective July 1, 2001, subsections (5) and
29 (7) of section 553.71, Florida Statutes, as amended by this
30 act, are amended, and subsections (10) and (11) are added to
31 said section, to read:

1 553.71 Definitions.--As used in this part, the term:
2 (5) "Local enforcement agency" means an agency of
3 local government, a local school board, a community college
4 board, or a university in the State University System with
5 jurisdiction authority to make inspections of buildings and to
6 enforce the codes which establish standards for design,
7 construction, erection, alteration, repair, modification, or
8 demolition of public or private buildings, structures, or
9 facilities.
10 (7) "Threshold building" means any building which is
11 greater than three stories or 50 feet in height, or which has
12 an assembly occupancy classification as defined in the Florida
13 Building Code State Minimum Building Codes which exceeds 5,000
14 square feet in area and an occupant content of greater than
15 500 persons.
16 (10) "Exposure category C" means, except in the high
17 velocity hurricane zone, that area which lies within 1500 feet
18 of the coastal construction control line, or within 1500 feet
19 of the mean high tide line, whichever is less. On barrier
20 islands, exposure category C shall be applicable in the
21 coastal building zone set forth in s. 161.55(5).
22 (11) "Prototype building" means a building constructed
