18 Section 1. The Florida Corrections Commission shall
19 research the impact of House Bill 2325 as reported favorably
20 with amendments by the House Committee on Governmental
21 Operations on April 17, 2000 including the fiscal impact of
22 that bill on the state court system, the Department of
23 Corrections, the Florida Parole Commission, county detention
24 facilities, state prosecutors and public defenders. The report
25 shall identify any potential savings resulting from the
26 reorganization of the Florida Parole Commission in House Bill
27 2325. The report shall identify any benefits and savings which
28 could result from the Parole Commission reorganization and
29 compare any such savings to the estimated costs of providing
30 mandatory post-prison supervision for all state prisoners
31 released under the provisions of the proposed legislation. In

1 addition, the report shall identify any public-safety benefits
2 of requiring mandatory post-prison probation for all state
3 prisoners.

5 In preparing its report, the Florida Corrections Commission
6 shall consult with the House Criminal Justice Appropriations
7 Committee, the House Criminal Justice and Corrections Council,
8 the House Committee on Corrections, the Senate Criminal
9 Justice Committee, the Senate Fiscal Group, the Executive
10 Office of the Governor, the Department of Legal Affairs, the
11 Office of the State Courts Administrator, the Florida
12 Sheriff's Association, the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys
13 Association, the Public Defender Association the Florida
14 Parole Commission, the Department of Corrections, and any
15 other appropriate entities or persons. The Florida Corrections
16 Commission shall submit a final report to the Executive Office
17 of the Governor, the Speaker of the House and the President of
18 Senate no later than December 1, 2000.
19 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
20 law.
