19 Section 104. (1) The Florida Corrections Commission
20 shall research the impact of the provisions of this act,
21 including the fiscal impact on the state courts, the
22 Department of Corrections, the Florida Parole Commission,
23 state prosecutors, and public defenders. The report shall
24 identify any potential savings resulting from the
25 reorganization of the Florida Parole Commission as provided in
26 this act, and shall compare such benefits and savings to the
27 estimated costs of providing mandatory postprison supervision
28 for all state prisoners released after July 1, 2001. In
29 addition, the report shall identify all benefits to public
30 safety that result from requiring mandatory postprison
31 probation for all state prisoners. In preparing its report,

1 the Florida Corrections Commission shall consult with the
2 House Committee on Criminal Justice Appropriations, the House
3 Criminal Justice and Corrections Council, the Senate Committee
4 on Criminal Justice, the Subcommittee on Public Safety and
5 Judiciary of the Senate Budget Committee, the Executive Office
6 of the Governor, the Department of Legal Affairs, the Office
7 of the State Courts Administrator, the Florida Sheriffs
8 Association, the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association,
9 the Florida Public Defenders Association, the Florida Parole
10 Commission, the Department of Corrections, and any other
11 appropriate entities or persons. The Florida Corrections
12 Commission shall submit a final report to the Governor, the
13 President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of
14 Representatives no later than November 1, 2000
15 (2) This section shall take effect upon becoming a
16 law.
17 Section 105. Except as otherwise provided herein, this
18 act shall take effect July 1, 2001.
