  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to review of mandated health

  3         coverage; providing an appropriation to the

  4         Office of Legislative Services for a systematic

  5         review of current mandated health coverages in

  6         accordance with the intent and guidelines of s.

  7         624.215, F.S.; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  The sum of $200,000 is appropriated from

12  the Insurance Commissioner's Regulatory Trust Fund to the

13  Office of Legislative Services for the purpose of implementing

14  the legislative intent expressed in s. 624.215(1), Florida

15  Statutes, for a systematic review of current mandated health

16  coverages. The review must be conducted by certified actuaries

17  and other appropriate professionals and shall consist of an

18  assessment of the impact of current mandated health coverages

19  using the guidelines provided in s. 624.215(2), Florida

20  Statutes. This assessment shall establish the aggregate cost

21  of mandated health coverages.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.
