11  Senator Latvala moved the following amendment to amendment

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 48, between lines 20 and 21,

16

17  insert:

18         Section 16.  Section 373.1995, Florida Statutes, is

19  created to read:

20         373.1995  Florida Forever performance measures.--The

21  five water management districts shall jointly provide a report

22  by December 15, 2000, to the Secretary of Environmental

23  Protection, which shall establish specific goals and

24  performance measures that may be used to analyze activities

25  funded pursuant to s. 259.105(3)(a). The report shall, at a

26  minimum, be based on those goals and performance measures

27  identified in s. 259.105(4). The secretary shall forward the

28  report to the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement

29  Trust Fund for their approval. After approval by the board of

30  trustees, the secretary shall forward the approved report to

31  the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of

  1  Representatives, prior to the beginning of the 2001 Regular

  2  Legislative Session, for review by the substantive legislative

  3  committee from which the Florida Forever Act originated, or

  4  its successor. The Legislature may reject, modify, or take no

  5  action relative to the goals and performance measures

  6  established by the report. If no action is taken, the goals

  7  and performance measures established in the report shall be

  8  implemented.
