  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution recognizing the benefits that

  3         Amtrak has provided the State of Florida.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, a national intermodal passenger transportation

  6  system is key to meeting the ever-increasing transportation

  7  demands of the nation and this state, and

  8         WHEREAS, intercity rail passenger service is an

  9  essential component of a national and state intermodal

10  passenger transportation system, and

11         WHEREAS, the National Railroad Passenger Corporation

12  (Amtrak) provides a quality transportation product in the form

13  of clean, comfortable, and on-time service, and

14         WHEREAS, Amtrak's management and employees are

15  dedicated to providing the high quality service that the

16  people of this state expect and deserve, and

17         WHEREAS, local governments and private parties continue

18  to support intercity rail passenger service as an essential

19  component of the intermodal transportation network in this

20  state, and

21         WHEREAS, Amtrak provides excellent service to the

22  people of this state, NOW, THEREFORE,

23

24  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

25

26         That Amtrak is commended for its high quality service

27  and for providing excellent transportation to the people of

28  this state.
