  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to health care; expressing the

  3         legislative intent to create the West Central

  4         Florida Regional Health Care Authority to

  5         manage and approve the expenditure of state and

  6         regional appropriations to Tampa General

  7         Hospital; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to

12  create the West Central Florida Regional Health Care Authority

13  encompassing the jurisdictional area of Hillsborough,

14  Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and Manatee counties. The authority,

15  which will consist of state and local leaders, shall manage

16  and approve the expenditure of state and regional

17  appropriations to be used by Tampa General Hospital.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

19  law.
