  1                    Senate Resolution No.     

  2         A resolution paying tribute to the life of Ryan

  3         C. L'Homme, commending his achievements and his

  4         exemplary character.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, Ryan C. L'Homme was born on April 16, 1981, to

  7  Charles and Terri L'Homme and later became a big brother to

  8  his younger sister, Courtney, and

  9         WHEREAS, Ryan L'Homme, who was part of the "Fab Five,"

10  graduated from Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida,

11  in the class of 1999, where he was a member of the National

12  Honor Society and participated in the Student Senate, and

13         WHEREAS, as a result of a decision made in 9th grade,

14  Ryan L'Homme attended Florida State University, beginning in

15  the fall of 1999, to study electrical engineering, for which

16  he received an overall grade point average of 3.6 for his

17  first semester, and

18         WHEREAS, in addition to his dedication to his studies,

19  Ryan L'Homme pledged the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and became

20  one of the founding fathers of the new Pike fraternity at

21  Florida State University, and

22         WHEREAS, Ryan L'Homme exemplified the rare balance of

23  intelligence and industriousness with playfulness and

24  mischief, had a positive influence upon all who knew him, and

25  was a trusted, loved, and respected son, brother, grandson,

26  nephew, cousin, and friend, and

27         WHEREAS, Ryan L'Homme set his goals for the sky, both

28  figuratively and literally, and aspired to become an astronaut

29  someday, and

30         WHEREAS, the citizens of the State of Florida mourn the

31  untimely loss of Ryan C. L'Homme to a tragic accident and

  1  extend condolences to Ryan's family and friends, NOW,

  2  THEREFORE,

  4  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

  5

  6         That the Florida Senate commends Ryan L'Homme for his

  7  academic and personal efforts during his short but special

  8  life and expresses the profound wish that Ryan's life may

  9  stand as an example for all young people.

10         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

11  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Charles,

12  Terri, and Courtney L'Homme, as a tangible token of the

13  sentiments of the Florida Senate.
