1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the City of Pompano Beach,
3 Broward County; providing for the extending and
4 enlarging of the corporate limits of the City
5 of Pompano Beach to include specified
6 unincorporated lands within said city;
7 establishing the effective date of annexation;
8 providing an effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of
13 Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida, are hereby extended
14 and enlarged so as to include, in addition to the territory
15 presently within its corporate limits, that portion of Section
16 30, Township 48 South, Range 43 East, Broward County, Florida,
17 being more particularly described as follows:

20 Parcel "A", "HIBISCUS PLAZA", according to the
21 plat thereof, recorded in Plat Book 92, Page 11
22 of the Public Records of Broward County,
23 Florida, and that portion of the plat of
24 POMPANO PROFESSIONAL PLAZA, recorded in Plat
25 Book 82, Page 33 of the Public Records of
26 Broward County, Florida not contained within
27 that land annexed to the City of Pompano Beach,
28 Florida by Ordinance 97-89 of the City
29 Commission of the City of Pompano Beach,
30 Florida, all being described as follows:

1 Beginning at the Southeast corner of said
2 Parcel "A", "HIBISCUS PLAZA";

4 THENCE South 88 degrees 50'37" West along the
5 South line of the North half of the North half
6 of the Northwest quarter of Section 30,
7 Township 48 South, Range 43 East, a distance of
8 276.71 feet to the boundary of that land
9 annexed to the City of Pompano Beach, Florida
10 by Ordinance 97-89 of the City Commission of
11 the City of Pompano Beach, Florida;

13 THENCE North 00 degrees 32'33" West along said
14 boundary, 124.15 feet;

16 THENCE North 88 degrees 50'38" East along said
17 boundary, 133.88 feet;

19 THENCE North 00 degrees 54'41" West along said
20 boundary, 123.14 feet;

22 THENCE North 89 degrees 05'19" East along said
23 boundary, 27.50 feet;

25 THENCE North 07 degrees 15'47" East along said
26 boundary, 25.13 feet;

28 THENCE North 88 degrees 50'38" East along said
29 boundary, 150.00 feet to the Westerly
30 right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 1 as
31 described in Chapter 69-1513, Laws of Florida;

2 THENCE South 07 degrees 15'10" West along said
3 Westerly right-of-way line, a distance of 275
4 feet to the Point of Beginning.

6 Containing 1.375 acres, more or less.

8 Said land situate, lying and being in Broward
9 County, Florida.

11 Section 2. On the effective date of this Act, the City
12 of Pompano Beach shall be responsible for and embodied with
13 all municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
14 over territory hereby annexed.
15 Section 3. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to
16 affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
17 whether the same be between Broward County and a third party
18 or between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in
19 effect prior to the effective date of annexation.
20 Section 4. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
21 law.
