1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the City of Deerfield Beach,
3 Broward County; extending and enlarging the
4 corporate limits of the City of Deerfield Beach
5 to include specified unincorporated lands
6 within said corporate limits; providing an
7 effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of
12 Deerfield Beach, Broward County, Florida, are hereby extended
13 and enlarged so as to include, in addition to the territory
14 presently within its corporate limits, that portion of parcel
15 "A", "J.F.C. Plat", according to the plat thereof, recorded in
16 Plat Book 133, Page 35 of the Public Records of Broward
17 County, Florida, lying Northerly of that road easement for
18 Sample Road as shown on said plat.

22 That parcel of land known as Parcel I as
23 described in that Warranty Deed recorded in
24 Official Record Book 16285, Page 241 of the
25 Public Records of Broward County, Florida and
26 described as follows:

28 All that part of Parcel "A", "J.F.C. Plat", as
29 recorded in Plat Book 133, Page 35 of the
30 Public Records of Broward County, Florida,
31 described as follows:

2 Commence at the Northwest corner of said Parcel
3 "A";

5 thence South 00°35'19" East along the West line
6 of said Parcel "A", 283.01 feet;

8 thence North 89°48'04" East parallel with the
9 South line of the lands platted as the said
10 "J.F.C. Plat", 205.02 feet to the point of
11 beginning of the description herein described;

13 thence continue North 89°48'04" East, 180.00 feet;
14
15 thence North 00°35'19" West, parallel with the
16 West line of said Parcel "A", 200.00 feet;

18 thence South 89°48'04" West, 180.00 feet;

20 thence South 00°35'19" East, 200.00 feet to the
21 point of beginning.

23 Containing 3.46 acres, more or less.

25 Section 2. All public roads and the public
26 rights-of-way associated therewith, lying within the limits of
27 the lands subject to annexation herein, as described in
28 section 1, are transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to
29 the jurisdiction of the annexing municipality, except any
30 county collector roads.

1 Section 3. On the effective date of this act, the City
2 of Deerfield Beach shall be responsible for and embodied with
3 all municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
4 over territory hereby annexed.
5 Section 4. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed
6 to affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
7 whether the same be between Broward County and a third party
8 or between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in
9 effect prior to the effective date of annexation.
10 Section 5. This act shall take effect September 15,
11 2000.
