11  Senator Clary moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 138, lines 1 through 4, delete those lines

15

16  and insert:

17         Section 79.  Subsections (2), (3), and (9) of section

18  553.841, Florida Statutes, are amended, and subsection (11) is

19  added to that section, to read:

20         553.841  Building code training program; participant

21  competency requirements.--

22         (2)  The commission shall establish by rule the

23  Building Code Training Program to develop and provide a core

24  curriculum and advance module courses relating to the Florida

25  Building Code and a system of administering and enforcing the

26  Florida Building Code.

27         (3)  The program shall be developed, implemented, and

28  administered by the commission in consultation with the

29  Department of Education, the Department of Community Affairs,

30  the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the

31  State Fire Marshall, the State University System, and the

 1  Division of Community Colleges.

 2         (9)  The commission, in consultation with the

 3  Department of Business and Professional Regulation, shall

 4  develop or cause to be developed, or approve as a part of the

 5  program, a core curriculum and specialized or advanced module

 6  coursework for the construction workforce, including, but not

 7  limited to, superintendents and, journeymen, and residential

 8  designers.

13         On page 11, line 26, after the second semicolon,

14

15  insert:

16         requiring the Florida Building Commission to

17         establish a training program by rule; providing

18         for consultation with the State Fire Marshall;

19         eliminating residential designers from the

20         program;
