13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 107, lines 25-31, delete those lines

15

16  and insert:

17         Section 69.  Effective January 1, 2001, paragraph (c)

18  of subsection (1) and subsections (2), (4), (5), (6), (7),

19  (8), (9), (10), (11), and (12) of section 553.73, Florida

20  Statutes, as amended by section 40 of chapter 98-287, Laws of

21  Florida, as amended by section 61 of chapter 98-419, Laws of

22  Florida, are amended to read:

23         553.73  Florida Building Code.--

24         (1)

25         (c)  The Florida Fire Prevention Code and the Life

26  Safety Code shall be referenced in the Florida Building Code,

27  but shall be adopted, modified, revised, or amended,

28  interpreted, and maintained by the Department of Insurance by

29  rule adopted pursuant to ss. 120.536(1) and 120.54. The

30  Florida Building Commission may not adopt a fire prevention or

31  life safety code and nothing in the Florida Building Code

 2  responsibilities of any fire official or the Department of

 3  Insurance.
