  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to specialty license plates;

  3         amending s. 320.08058, F.S.; providing for a

  4         distribution of a portion of the annual use

  5         fees from the Share the Road license plate to

  6         Bike Florida, Inc., rather than to the

  7         Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and

  8         Amateur Sports; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Paragraph (b) of subsection (31) of section

13  320.08058, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

14         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

15         (31)  SHARE THE ROAD LICENSE PLATES.--

16         (b)  The annual use fees shall be distributed to Bike

17  Florida, Inc. the Florida Governor's Council on Physical

18  Fitness and Amateur Sports, a portion of which shall be used

19  for marketing and promotion of the "Share the Road" concept

20  and license plate. The remaining funds shall be divided

21  equally between Bike Florida, Inc., and the Florida Bicycle

22  Association, Inc., to be used for:

23         1.  Education and awareness programs, for bicycle

24  safety and motorist safety, with emphasis on sharing the

25  roadway by all users.

26         2.  Training, workshops, educational materials, and

27  media events.

28         3.  The promotion of safe bicycling.

29         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

30  law.
