  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the state group health

  3         insurance and prescription drug programs;

  4         authorizing specified local entities to

  5         contract for participation in the program;

  6         providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  The governing body of a municipality, the

11  governing body of a county, or the school board of a school

12  district may contract annually with the Department of

13  Management Services for participation in the state group

14  health insurance benefits authorized in section 110.123,

15  Florida Statutes, and prescription drug coverage authorized by

16  section 110.12315, Florida Statutes, under the same terms and

17  conditions as are provided to state officers and employees.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.

21                          SENATE SUMMARY

22    Provides that the governing body of a municipality or
      county or a district school board may contract for

      state prescription drug programs.
