18         (15)  PUBLIC INFORMATION AND PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

19  PROGRAM.--

20         (a)  Adopt procedures whereby the general public can be

21  adequately informed of the educational programs, needs, and

22  objectives of public education within the district.

23         (b)  District school boards shall implement a policy

24  for parental and guardian involvement in schools that

25  addresses the teachers' and the administration's communication

26  with parents and guardians about school programs and student

27  progress, parent and guardian volunteering opportunities, and

28  availability of community resources that support classroom

29  instruction and child development.  The school board may

30  encourage at least one of a child's parents or the child's

31  guardian to participate in an orientation program at the time
