11  Senator Horne moved the following amendment to amendment

14         Senate Amendment 

15         On page 3, lines 8 - 29, delete those lines

16

17  and insert:

18         (a)  Shall appoint an executive director, who shall be

19  the chief administrative officer of the task force. With

20  approval of the chair, the director may employ research and

21  support staff to serve the needs of the task force. All

22  members of the task force staff are exempt from the Career

23  Service System and shall be employed in accordance with the

24  legislative personnel plan administered by the Office of

25  Legislative Services.

26         (b)  The task force is authorized to enter into

27  contracts or agreements with individuals, organizations, or

28  firms to provide expertise required by the task force to

29  perform its duties.

30         (c)  The task force is authorized to apply for and

31  accept funds, grants, donations, expenses, in-kind services,

 1  or other valued goods or services from any public or private

 2  source, including in-kind services of employees of the state
