13         Amendment 

14         On page 2, line 17, through page 3, line 13,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         (d)  Except as provided in subparagraphs 1. and 2., the

19  county must shall continue to contribute each year an amount

20  equal to at least 80 percent of that percentage of the total

21  county budget appropriated for the operation, administration,

22  and maintenance of the county public general hospital from the

23  county's general revenues in the fiscal year of the county

24  ending September 30, 1991:

25         1.  Twenty-five percent of such amount must be remitted

26  to a governing board, agency, or authority that is wholly

27  independent from the public health trust, agency, or authority

28  responsible for the county public general hospital, to be used

29  solely for the purpose of funding the plan for indigent health

30  care services provided for in paragraph (e);

31         2.  However, in the first year of the plan, a total of

 1  $10 million shall be remitted to such governing board, agency,

 2  or authority, to be used solely for the purpose of funding the

 3  plan for indigent health care services provided for in

 4  paragraph (e), and in the second year of the plan, a total of

 5  $15 million shall be so remitted and used.
