11  Senator Silver moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 25, between lines 5 and 6,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 24.  Any law enforcement agency that authorizes

18  the removal of a motor vehicle under section 715.05, Florida

19  Statutes, that receives notification of the removal of a motor

20  vehicle from private property under section 715.07, Florida

21  Statutes, or that receives notification of the repossession of

22  a motor vehicle under section 493.6118, Florida Statutes,

23  shall, within 24 hours after removal of the motor vehicle or

24  receipt of such notification, enter the vehicle identification

25  information by electronic communication into the state

26  FCIC/NCIC computer system.

27         Section 25.  (1)  When a law enforcement agency is

28  notified that a vehicle, license plate, registration decal, or

29  a vehicle vin plate has been stolen or recovered, the agency

30  shall make due and diligent inquiry into the circumstance of

31  the reported theft or recovery, or shall immediately refer the

 1  person reporting such information to the law enforcement

 2  agency having jurisdiction over the place where the item was

 3  removed or recovered.

 4         (2)  Upon notification of such theft or recovery, the

 5  law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction over the place

 6  where the item was removed or recovered shall, within 24 hours

 7  after receipt of this notification, enter the information by

 8  electronic communication into the state FCIC/NCIC computer

 9  system.

24         certain vehicle identification information and

25         requiring them to enter such information into

26         the state FCIC/NCIC computer system;
