  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution honoring Amanda Waas.

  3

  4         WHEREAS, an extraordinary ninth grade student at Miami

  5  Palmetto High School, Ms. Amanda Waas has proven herself to be

  6  an exemplary citizen by working to help those in need in her

  7  community, and

  8         WHEREAS, in recognition of her goodwill, The Prudential

  9  Insurance Company of America, in partnership with the National

10  Association of Secondary School Principals, has presented

11  Amanda with a Distinguished Finalist Medallion from the 2000

12  Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program, and

13         WHEREAS, this prestigious award is offered in honor of

14  young volunteers throughout the nation who have demonstrated

15  an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities, and

16         WHEREAS, the success of the State of Florida, the

17  strength of our communities, and the vitality of American

18  society depend in great measure upon the dedication of young

19  people who employ their considerable talents and resources to

20  serve others, and

21         WHEREAS, Ms. Waas' dedication and commitment to better

22  her community serves as a shining example of the goodwill of

23  the citizens of the State of Florida and as a model for young

24  people across the nation, NOW, THEREFORE,

26  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

27  Florida:

29         That the House of Representatives of the State of

30  Florida hereby congratulates and honors Amanda Waas as a

31  recipient of a Distinguished Finalist Medallion from the
