  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution recognizing March 28, 2000, as

  3         Mote Day in Florida.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, Mote Marine Laboratory, an independent

  6  nonprofit organization, has well served the State of Florida

  7  and its citizenry for 45 years, and

  8         WHEREAS, Mote Marine Laboratory is recognized

  9  throughout the world for its excellence in marine research and

10  education, and

11         WHEREAS, Mote Marine Laboratory operates an aquarium

12  that is a world-class education facility in the environmental

13  and marine sciences, and

14         WHEREAS, Mote Marine Laboratory will commemorate its

15  45th anniversary with a year-long celebration which began on

16  January 3, 2000, NOW, THEREFORE,

18  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

19  Florida:

21         That the House of Representatives pauses in its

22  deliberations to join with Mote Marine Laboratory in

23  commemorating its 45th anniversary of exceptional service to

24  the citizens of the state and to recognize March 28, 2000, as

25  Mote Day in Florida.
