  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution honoring the Florida National

  3         Guard and designating April 4, 2000, as

  4         "Florida National Guard Day."

  5

  6         WHEREAS, the Florida National Guard is the military arm

  7  of the Governor and the people of the great State of Florida,

  8  and

  9         WHEREAS, whenever there is a crisis or an emergency,

10  the Florida National Guard stands ready to immediately respond

11  to a call from the Governor, and

12         WHEREAS, the citizens of Florida can always be assured

13  that, when called to protect their lives and property, the

14  Florida National Guard will respond, prepared to accomplish

15  any task or mission, and

16         WHEREAS, with the approach of the 2000 hurricane

17  season, the Florida National Guard is richly deserving of

18  recognition for its success in the past as its soldiers and

19  airmen stand ready to meet any crisis in the future, NOW,

20  THEREFORE,

22  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

23  Florida:

24

25         That the House of Representatives recognizes the true

26  and faithful service of the soldiers and airmen of the Florida

27  National Guard.

28         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of

29  Representatives recognizes the significant contributions and

30  consistent readiness of the Florida National Guard and hereby

  1  designates April 4, 2000, as "Florida National Guard Day" in

  3         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

  4  be presented to Major General Ronald O. Harrison, Adjutant

  5  General of Florida, as a tangible token of the sentiments

  6  expressed herein.
