  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commemorating the art and science

  3         of Florida barbeque.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, three out of four United States households own

  6  a barbeque grill, and

  7         WHEREAS, barbeque grilling is a uniquely southern

  8  tradition that is now enjoyed throughout the United States,

  9  and

10         WHEREAS, the styles of barbeque cooked in Florida are

11  as diverse as the people who inhabit our great state, and

12         WHEREAS, the promotion of barbeque in Florida benefits

13  the economic, cultural, and tourist segments of our state, and

14         WHEREAS, those who cook and enjoy barbeque need a voice

15  in Florida to promote the enjoyment of this unique culinary

16  tradition, NOW, THEREFORE,

18  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

19  Florida:

21         That the House of Representatives of the State of

22  Florida hereby bestows the high honor of Florida Secretary of

23  Barbecue on State Representative George Albright.

24         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Representative Albright and

25  his assignees and designees are hereby charged with

26  representing the State of Florida and the people of the State

27  of Florida at functions and events promoting and relating to

28  the enjoyment of barbeque.
