2 A resolution commending the Gamma Delta Sigma
3 Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

5 WHEREAS, Gamma Delta Sigma Chapter, established in 1951
6 under the guidance of esteemed founder Leonard F. Morse, has
7 about 130 local members and is associated with Phi Beta Sigma
8 Fraternity, Incorporated, an international graduate fraternal
9 organization of nearly 100,000 members, and
10 WHEREAS, committed to the principles of brotherhood,
11 scholarship, and service, Gamma Delta Sigma Chapter is
12 dedicated to bridging corporations with communities via
13 economic and human services, and
14 WHEREAS, Gamma Sigma Delta's motto, "Culture for
15 Service and Service for Humanity," embodies the organization's
16 commitment which has been demonstrated and implemented through
17 many of its successful national, regional, and local programs,
18 and
19 WHEREAS, as a result of dedication and diversification,
20 Gamma Delta Sigma Chapter promotes and assists in uplifting
21 the people of its community through local programs focused on
22 mentoring and tutoring African-American children, providing
23 food for the homeless, and providing a social outlet for all
24 in a safe and healthy environment, and
25 WHEREAS, Gamma Delta Sigma Chapter celebrates its
26 49-year history by paying tribute to the founders of the Phi
27 Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, the Honorable A. Langston
28 Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown, who will
29 forever be remembered for their contributions to their chapter
30 and to their nation, NOW, THEREFORE,

1 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
2 Florida:

4 That the House of Representatives recognizes the
5 contributions of Gamma Delta Sigma Chapter's contributions to
6 the community and commends the fraternal organization for its
7 efforts to better the people of the state.
