  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to physician licensing;

  3         creating s. 458.3135, F.S.; providing for the

  4         issuance of temporary certificates to

  5         foreign-licensed physicians studying at the H.

  6         Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research

  7         Institute; requiring a fee; providing an

  8         effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Section 458.3135, Florida Statutes, is

13  created to read:

14         458.3135  Temporary certificate for visitors to H. Lee

15  Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.--A physician who

16  holds a valid license issued by any state or country and who

17  is visiting the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research

18  Institute to receive medical instruction may be issued a

19  temporary certificate to practice medicine under the

20  supervision of a physician licensed in this state for the

21  duration of such instruction. The certificate shall be issued

22  upon payment of an application fee of $100 for a period to be

23  determined by the department, not to exceed 1 year. This

24  section does not authorize a foreign-licensed physician to

25  qualify to practice medicine in this state, except under the

26  limited conditions provided in this section.

27         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2000.
