14 On page 2, line 1 through page 18, line 6, of the bill

16 insert in lieu thereof:
17 Section 1. Section 782.09, Florida Statutes, is
18 amended to read:
19 782.09 Killing of unborn child by injury to mother a
20 viable fetus.--
21 The knowing and willful killing of an unborn quick
22 child a viable fetus, by any injury to the mother of such
23 child violent actions against the pregnant woman which would
24 be murder if it resulted in the death of such mother, shall be
25 deemed manslaughter, a felony of the second degree, punishable
26 as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
27 Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2001,
28 and shall apply to offenses committed on or after that date.
