19 Section 8. Behavioral Health Services Integration
20 Workgroup.--
21 (1) The Secretary of the Department of Children and
22 Family Services shall establish the Behavioral Health Services
23 Integration Workgroup, which, at a minimum, shall include
24 representatives from the following: Department of Juvenile
25 Justice, the Department of Corrections, and the Department of
26 Education; the Office of Drug Control Policy; the Agency for
27 Health Care Administration; and county jails, homeless
28 coalitions, county government, providers of behavioral health
29 services, public and private Baker Act receiving facilities,
30 providers of child-protection services, assisted living
31 facilities serving behavioral health clients, and consumers of

1 behavioral health services and their families. The Behavioral
2 Health Services Integration Workgroup shall assess barriers to
3 the effective and efficient integration of mental health and
4 substance-abuse-treatment services across various systems,
5 propose solutions to these barriers, and ensure that plans for
6 mental health and substance-abuse-treatment services which are
7 required by statute consider these solutions. Under chapter
8 216, Florida Statutes, the Department of Children and Family
9 Services may transfer up to $200,000 to support the Behavioral
10 Health Services Integration Workgroup.
11 (2) The Behavioral Health Services Integration
12 Workgroup shall submit a report to the Governor, the President
13 of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives
14 by January 1, 2002, regarding the Workgroup's progress toward
15 achieving the goals specified in subsection (1).
