11  The Committee on Business Regulation offered the following:

13         Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 13, lines 1-11,
15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

17  and insert in lieu thereof:  
18         (2)(a)  In addition to any other required examination,
19  each participant shall be examined by the attending physician
20  at the time of weigh-in.  If the physician determines that a
21  participant is physically or mentally unfit to proceed, the
22  physician shall notify any commissioner or the commission
23  representative who shall immediately cancel the match.  The
24  examination shall conform to rules adopted by the commission
25  based on the advice of the medical advisory council.  The
26  result of the examination shall be reported in a writing
27  signed by the physician and filed with the commission prior to
28  completion of the weigh-in.
29         (b)  The commission may require, by rule, each
30  participant to present to the commission representative at the
31  time of the weigh-in an original copy of blood test results

If required by the commission and the 3 blood test results are not presented as required by commission 4 rule or reveal the participant has a communicable disease, the 5 commission representative shall immediately cancel the match. 6 The commission may adopt, by rule, protocols and procedures 7 for the blood tests and the cancellation of a match, a list of 8 communicable diseases covered by this paragraph, and a time 9 period within which the blood test must be taken prior to the 10 match. 11 12 13 ================ T I T L E A M E N D M E N T =============== 14 And the title is amended as follows: 15 On page 2, line 15, after the semicolon, insert: 16 authorizing blood tests of participants prior 17 to a match; providing for cancellation of the 18 match for a test showing the presence of a 19 communicable disease or for failure to present 20 blood test results, if required; authorizing 21 the commission to adopt rules relating to blood 22 tests; 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 2 File original & 9 copies 04/12/01 hri0001 01:32 pm 01087-br -324391
