2 An act relating to nonprofit civic
3 organizations; amending s. 561.422, F.S.;
4 authorizing nonprofit civic organizations to
5 purchase alcoholic beverage permits for three
6 events per calendar year; providing an
7 effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Section 561.422, Florida Statutes, is
12 amended to read:
13 561.422 Nonprofit civic organizations; temporary
14 permits.--Upon the filing of an application and payment of a
15 fee of $25 per permit, the director of the division may issue
16 a permit authorizing a bona fide nonprofit civic organization
17 to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises
18 only, for a period not to exceed 3 days for each event,
19 subject to any state law or municipal or county ordinance
20 regulating the time for selling such beverages. Any such civic
21 organization may be issued only three such permits for three
22 events per calendar year. Each permit authorizes the service
23 of alcoholic beverages at as many locations as are necessary
24 at each event. Notwithstanding other provisions of the
25 Beverage Law, any civic organization licensed under this
26 section may purchase alcoholic beverages from a distributor or
27 vendor licensed under the Beverage Law.
28 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
29 law.
