14 On page 1, line 31,

16 insert:
17 Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 240.233, Florida
18 Statutes, is amended to read:
19 240.233 Universities; admissions of students.--Each
20 university is authorized to adopt rules governing the
21 admission of students, subject to this section and rules of
22 the Board of Regents.
23 (2) The minimum admission standards adopted by the
24 Board of Regents or a state university must permit a student
25 to earn at least 4 of the 19 credits constituting the
26 college-preparatory curriculum required for admission as
27 electives in any one of the following manners:
28 (a) Successful completion of any course identified in
29 the Department of Education course code directory as level two
30 or higher in one or more of the following subject areas:
31 English, mathematics, natural science, social science, and

1 foreign language;
2 (b) Successful completion of any course identified in
3 the Department of Education course code directory as level
4 three in the same or related disciplines;
5 (c) Any combination of the courses identified in
6 paragraphs (a) and (b); or
7 (d) Successful completion of two credits from the
8 courses identified in paragraph (a), plus no more than two
9 total credits from the following categories of courses:
10 1. Courses identified in the Department of Education
11 course code directory as ROTC and military training;
12 2. Courses identified in the Department of Education
13 course code directory as level two in art-visual arts, dance,
14 drama-theatre arts, language arts, or music, or career and
15 technical education courses that have been determined to be
16 equivalent to level two or level three courses in terms of
17 rigor and relevance; or
18 3. Any additional courses determined to be equivalent
19 by the Articulation Coordinating Committee.
