14 On page 3, between lines 28 and 29, of the bill

16 insert:
17 Section 2. Subsection (3) is added to section 229.59,
18 Florida Statutes, to read:
19 (3) The Department of Education may certify three New
20 American School Design Teams to provide comprehensive school
21 reform in the areas of teacher recruitment and retention,
22 professional development, project-based learning, and the
23 utilization of technology in the classroom. Any school or
24 school district in Florida that utilizes one of the three
25 providers certified by the Department of Education shall
26 receive priorities in the allocation of Federal Comprehensive
27 School Reform Demonstration (CRSD) funds. The Department may
28 establish by rule procedures to certify the three Design Teams
29 and to subsequently award funding to schools and school
30 districts.
