13 Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 7, line 12, after "certificate"

16 insert:

18 , or an athletic coaching certificate. Any person holding a
19 part-time coaching certificate as of July 1, 2001 shall be
20 given an athletic coaching certificate created in this
21 subsection, without the need for any further qualification or
22 application fee. It is the legislative intent that the
23 qualification for obtaining an athletic coaching certificate
24 shall be the same as was previously required to obtain a part
25 time coaching certificate. The creation of the athletic
26 coaching certificate and the elimination of the part-time
27 coaching certificate is not intended to interfere with the
28 ability of a school or district to hire a coach on a part-time
29 basis. Rather, the intent is to replace the part-time
30 athletic coaching certificate with an athletic coaching
31 certificate that may be used for either part-time or full-time
