18 Section 2. Effective upon this act becoming a law:
19 (1) Members of the Florida Cabinet and candidates for
20 the Florida Cabinet are prohibited from soliciting or
21 accepting any campaign contribution during the 60-day regular
22 legislative session on the Cabinet member's or candidate's own
23 behalf, on behalf of a political party, or on behalf of a
24 candidate for state office. However, a member of the Florida
25 Cabinet or candidate may contribute to his or her own
26 campaign.
27 (2) The Governor and Lieutenant Governor and
28 candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor are prohibited
29 from soliciting or accepting any campaign contribution on his
30 or her own behalf, on behalf of a political party, or on
31 behalf of a candidate for state office, during the 60-day

1 regular legislative session and until all acts passed by the
2 Legislature during the 60-day regular legislative session have
3 been acted upon by the Governor. However, the Governor or
4 Lieutenant Governor or a candidate for Governor or Lieutenant
5 Governor may contribute to his or her own campaign.
6 Section 3. If any provision of this act or the
7 application thereof to any person or circumstances is held
8 invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or
9 applications of the act which can be given effect without the
10 invalid provision or application, and to this end the
11 provisions of this act are declared severable.
12 Section 4. Except as otherwise expressly provided in
13 this act, this act shall take effect October 1, 2001.

18 On page 1, lines 10 and 11, delete those lines

20 and insert:
21 violation; providing penalties; prohibiting

25 during the regular legislative session;
26 providing effective dates.
