17 Section 2. Effective upon this act becoming a law:
18 (1) Members of the Florida Senate are prohibited from
19 soliciting or accepting any campaign contribution during the
20 60-day regular legislative session on the Senator's own
21 behalf, on behalf of a political party, on behalf of a
22 candidate for the Senate, or on behalf of a candidate for
23 state office; however, a Senator may contribute to the
24 Senator's own campaign.
25 (2) Members of the Florida House of Representatives
26 are prohibited from soliciting or accepting any campaign
27 contribution during the 60-day regular legislative session on
28 the member's own behalf, on behalf of a political party, on
29 behalf of a candidate for the House of Representatives, or on
30 behalf of a candidate for state office; however, a member may
31 contribute to the member's own campaign.

1 (3) Members of the Florida Cabinet are prohibited from
2 soliciting or accepting any campaign contribution during the
3 60-day regular legislative session on the Cabinet member's own
4 behalf, on behalf of a political party, or on behalf of a
5 candidate for state office. However, a member of the Florida
6 Cabinet may contribute to his or her own campaign.
7 (4) The Governor and Lieutenant Governor are
8 prohibited from soliciting or accepting any campaign
9 contribution on his or her own behalf, on behalf of a
10 political party, or on behalf of a candidate for state office,
11 during the 60-day regular legislative session and until all
12 acts passed by the Legislature during the 60-day regular
13 legislative session have been acted upon by the Governor.
14 However, a candidate for Governor or Lieutenant Governor may
15 contribute to his or her own campaign.
16 Section 3. Except as otherwise expressly provided in
17 this act, this act shall take effect October 1, 2001.
