  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to special assessments;

  3         amending s. 189.420, F.S.; providing a method

  4         for special assessments of mobile home and

  5         recreational vehicle parks by municipalities

  6         and counties; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Section 189.420, Florida Statutes, is

11  amended to read:

12         189.420  Assessments levied on facilities regulated

13  under chapter 513.--When a municipality, a county, or an

14  independent or dependent special district levies an assessment

15  on a facility regulated under chapter 513, the assessment

16  shall not be based on the assertion that residential units

17  comprise the facility is comprised of residential units.

18  Instead, facilities regulated under chapter 513 shall be

19  assessed in the same manner as a hotel, motel, or other

20  similar facility.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.

25                          SENATE SUMMARY

26    Provides that the method for special assessments of
      mobile home and recreational vehicle parks by
27    municipalities and counties be the same as for special
      assessments by independent or dependent special
28    districts.
