13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 2, line 5, after the period,
15
16 insert: A student who is not in a family that receives
17 temporary cash assistance but who meets the other criteria in
18 this section shall be sanctioned and his or her family shall
19 be fined at a rate that is equivalent to what would be
20 withheld if the family received temporary cash assistance.
21 Fines for a family with a truant child which does not receive
22 public assistance shall be assessed and collected by the
23 school district administration. Such fines shall be deposited
24 into a trust fund to be used within the district for
25 after-school programs. The fines shall be collected on the
26 same basis that families who receive cash assistance are
27 fined. The Department of Education shall adopt rules to
28 administer this provision.
